August 8, 2009 - Millarville Music in the Hills

Thanks to a fantastic audience and talented performers, Bud Edgar - Comedy Cowboy,  Bow Djangos, Double Diamond, Tragically Hick and Wild Rose Xpress, the 2nd Annual Millarville Music in the Hills was a huge success!

The day started off with the cools sounds of Gypsy jazz of Bow Djangos.  Their unique sound had the crowd mesmerized watching these very talented musicians performing in their true gypsy flare!

Next Wild Rose Xpress fired off some feisty bluegrass tunes. They performed a variety of traditional songs and show cased some of their new original material, much to the delight of the audience.

Another bluegrass band, Tragically Hick took the stage performing their perfect harmonies and flawless instrumentation! Their listeners were treated to a wonderful variety of songs from Bluegrass to Texas swing.

The fourth group was Double Diamond, pleasing the crowd by singing songs telling stories of their Cowboy Heritage . They performed songs originally written as Cowboy poetry, which they put to music to become beautiful ballads.

The event would not have been complete without our Emcee, Bud Edgar, Comedy Cowboy.  Bud entertained the audience both young and old with his rope tricks, unique style of fiddling, crazy jokes and making balloon animals.

A special "THANKS" goes to the Foothills Bluegrass Music Society for donating the hall rental, the sound equipment and soundman. Also a BIG thanks to Brian McGann (soundman) for making everyone sound so good and to all the volunteers including Deborah, Ellen, Todd, Solandra, Sharon, Jessica, Katherine and Alicia.

Wild Rose Xpress enjoyed organizing this event & is looking forward to the 3rd Annual "Millarville Music in the Hills".
